July 2018 Feature

CAN-AM OUTLANDER NORTH EDITION 850/NORTH EDITION 650

The Outlander North Edition ATVs, designed to excel in cold weather, includes all the 2019 Outlander family updates to the suspension, grille, bumpers and styling, but also receive unique features like heated grips and throttle, full windshield and visor outlets for the driver. For work, it includes a 3,000-lb. WARN winch and rides confidently on ITP Terra Cross tires on 14-inch aluminum wheels. The package includes Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS).

Performance

- 2 Rotax V-Twin engines

Choose between a 78 hp, liquid-cooled, 854cc V-twin engine or a hearty 650cc liquid-cooled Rotax V-Twin powerplant that produces 62 hp. Both engines are paired to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) that requires no shifting, includes standard engine braking and offers High, and extra-low Low, Park, Neutral and Reverse gears.

Handling

- Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS)

The industry-exclusive Tri-Mode DPS system features three modes (MIN, MED and MAX) allowing riders to select the desired amount of steering assist for the terrain, conditions and preferred riding style.

- Visco-Lok QE front differential

All DPS-equipped models come with the Visco-Lok QE calibration giving an even quicker engagement of the front differential.

- NEW 14-in. (35.6 cm) cast-aluminum wheels

New 14-inch (35.6 cm) cast aluminum wheels have a unique design and finish and ultra-strong centreless design compared to the standard model.

- 26-inch (66 cm) ITP Terra Cross tires

Durable 26-inch (66 cm) ITP Terra Cross tires supply versatile traction in all terrains.

- 3,000-lb. WARN winch

The Outlander North Edition ATV package has a 3,000-lb. (1,361 kg) WARN winch with roller fairlead.

Rider-Focused Design

- High Windshield

The standard high windshield provides excellent protection from the wind, snow and trail debris for the rider. The easy mounting system lets owners remove and re-install the windshield with little effort.

- Radio Frequency (RF) Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.)

The RF D.E.S.S. requires a specific key to operate the vehicle. Each all-terrain vehicle includes both a performance key and regular key. Can-Am is the only manufacturer to offer a factory-installed anti-theft device as standard equipment.

- Multi-function digital gauge

The LCD display includes a speedometer, tachometer (bar graph rpm, bottom bar numerical rpm), odometer, trip and hour meters. A diagnostic center, gear position, engine hour meter, 4x4 indicator, temperature light, engine light, fuel gauge and clock are also part of the standard package.

- Heated grips, throttle and visor outlets

The Outlander North Edition ATV package includes heated grips, throttle and visor outlet to keep the driver’s hands warm and their visor clear of fogging. The integrated kit (also available on the North Edition MAX ATV) features an LED dimmer that facilitates reading temperature settings and four temperature settings with individual controls for the thumb and grips. The system allows for one-touch shutdown and automatically returns to its previous heat setting.

- Full floorboards with foot pegs

The Outlander North Edition ATVs have full floorboards for added protection and coverage from the elements. The driver’s aggressive foot pegs with kick-ups provide solid footing for trail riding and when the snow is deep.

- Mudguards

Mudguards run on the wheel wells to complete the premium look and give the rider further protection from the elements.

- Color available

The Can-Am Outlander North Edition comes in White for 2019.
