Mountain Skillz Now Has Its Own Private Lodging For Its Guests

December 2019 Feature

Jesse and Matt Entz, owners of Mountain Skillz with Matt Entz, have just announced the newest addition to the Mountain Skillz snowmobiling experience—lodging exclusively available for all of their clients.

Beginning this December, all Mountain Skillz guests will have access to the new private Baxterville Lodge, located in South Fork, CO, home of Mountain Skillz (www.mountainskillz.com).

Highlights of the beautiful fully-furnished 3,400-square-foot lodge include six bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, an attached garage setup ideal for gear drying/storage room and home-cooked meals for dinner and breakfast with each night's stay. Other amenities are cell phone service, free WiFi and satellite TV. Additionally, the lodge sits on a beautiful spacious property with plenty of safe trailer parking available.

“Our family is really excited for this new adventure and addition to our business,” Matt Entz said. “We owe a humongous thank you to all of our partners, clients, family and everyone who has believed in our journey. It will be a family effort and that’s exactly how we want it. We have been extremely blessed with the clients who we have had in the past and feel like now is the time for this addition. Our clients become our friends and I am really looking forward to the additional time we will be able to spend together now off of the snow. The location is ideal for our setup. It’s close to our riding areas and will offer a peaceful private lodging experience for everyone who joins us.”

South Fork is located in southern Colorado at the base of Wolf Creek Pass in the San Juan Mountains. Surrounded by the Rio Grande National Forest, it’s a quiet mountain town throughout the winter months. Some of the deepest snow and best riding in the world is only a few miles up the road.

Baxterville was the early settlement that became South Fork. Local history and heritage is highlighted and displayed throughout the lodge providing guests with a unique local experience.

Jesse Entz commented, “I find it very surreal that this is our life. Matt has always been a ‘push the limit’ kind of guy. He’s instilled in our family that no dream is out of reach. This is proof. I find myself in tears looking at how far we have come. I’m looking forward to our guests joining us for the ‘full day’ experience!”

Mountain Skillz is entering its 8th year of operation specializing in instructional-based technical mountain riding and motorized avalanche safety courses. A fleet of new Polaris RMK 850s is always available for the convenience of their clients. The nearest airport is located in Durango about 100 miles away. Operations have been expanded to include guided RZR tours over the summer months all through the surrounding mountains. The lodge will also be available for families and groups wanting to visit the area during the summer and fall months.
