Finding Our Way to Long Lost Creek

Early June may be too early

June 2018 Feature Steve Janes Web Exclusive

Sometimes you can be too impatient when trying to get back to your favorite riding trails in the spring. Even though summer is fast approaching in the valley, winter is lingering on in the mountains.

We decided to take a peak at the Long Lost Creek trail, north of Mackay, ID, on the first of June. Not only did we get into some of the snow left over from last winter, we got into some of the snow left from last night.

The trail was wet and rocky. Lots of puddles, but lots of spring flowers trying to make their early appearance. We were riding the Polaris RZR 1000 Turbo Dynamix and Kawasaki 800 Teryk EPS (two very different designed side-by-sides) which will be compared in an upcoming Dirt Toys Magazine issue.

It was cold, wet and windy … but still the best ride of the season.
