March 2018 Racing

Valcourt, Quebec - Can-Am off-road racers competed at two national off-road racing events this past weekend, coming away with numerous podiums. At the 2018 Best In The Desert (BITD) race, No Limit RD/Can-Am Factory racer Phil Blurton took the runner-up spot in the UTV Turbo class outside of Las Vegas, NN. Across the country, in Florida, Can-Am Factory racers Hunter Miller and Kevin Cunningham kept their title hopes alive with podium finishes in their respective classes at the Wild Boar Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) race.

Mint 400

At the BF Goodrich 50th Mint 400 race powered by Monster Energy outside of Las Vegas, Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo R pilot, and reigning BITD UTV Turbo class champion, ran a spectacular race in the Nevada desert, earning second overall at what is known as the Great American Off-Road Race. Blurton and co-pilot Beau Judge ran up front all day in their No. 944 No Limit RD-refined Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle but came up about 50 seconds shy of victory.

Two additional Can-Am Maverick X3 racers ran up front and battled for top five finishes in Nevada. Fourth place went to Derek and Jason Murray of Murray Racing, while Marc Burnett of Marc Burnett Motorsports earned sixth. A trio of Lonestar Racing-backed Can-Am pilots (Dan Fisher, eighth; Justin Elenburg, ninth; and Bryce Lamont, 10th) also put three additional Can-Am vehicles in the UTV Pro Turbo top 10. Can-Am drivers Jeramiah Drew and Michael Isom also took the runner-up position and third-place spot, respectively, in the UTV Unlimited ranks as they both chase a coveted BITD title.

Up next for Can-Am desert racers is the UTV World Championship race, April 6-7, in Laughlin, NV.

Wild Boar GNCC

Can-Am ATV and side-by-side vehicle racers competed at round two of the GNCC series in Palatka, FL. Factory-supported racer Hunter Miller earned a hard-fought third-place finish in the XC1 Pro Turbo UTV class at the Wild Boar GNCC. Combined with his third-place run at the GNCC opener, Miller currently sits second in the class points standings with four more rounds remaining this year.

In ATV racing action, Can-Am put in a dominant showing in Palatka, winning five classes. Defending two-time 4x4 Pro ATV champion Kevin Cunningham led the way in Florida taking the morning overall and class victory aboard his Can-Am Renegade X xc 1000 4x4.  He was joined on the class podium by fellow Can-Am competitors Landon Wolfe and Robert Smith. Can-Am also won the 4x4 A (Haedyn Mickelson), 4x4 B (John Rogers), 4x4 C (Wayne Mossbrooks) and 4x4 Lites (Rick Valetine) classes at round two.
