Rally In The Pines Kickoff

July 2016 Feature

The 2016 Rally in the Pines officially began last night with the Rally Campfire Meet & Greet that Dirt Toys sponsored.

It was a beautiful evening in the valley and a great start to the Rally. Participants, vendors and volunteers alike came to mingle and enjoy the s’mores and drinks provided. The event organizers introduced each ride leader and gave information about what each ride would consist of.

Participants arrived in Mackay throughout the day yesterday and there were many onsite registrations. We, along with other vendors, arrived early to set up and get settled in. Then we had the chance to explore a little before the Rally officially started.

The Mackay Mine Hill Tour is self-guided and consists of numerous historical buildings along the trails. It was a great combination of learning more about Mackay’s past and seeing the beautiful scenery in the surrounding mountains. We would definitely recommend it.

Today, registration began at 7 a.m. and a fundraiser breakfast to benefit the High School Rodeo Club began at 7:30. Vendor booths are open from 8-10 a.m. and rides leave between 8:30-10 a.m. This afternoon, the Rally Wash will be followed by the parade. Booths will be open again in the evening from 7:30-9 p.m. and the Glass Key Band concert also starts at 7:30. This evening’s festivities will conclude with an ice cream social and an awards ceremony for the parade.
