Valcourt, QC – BRP held its third annual general meeting today at its Product Development Center in Valcourt, taking advantage of the occasion to inaugurate the newly renovated research and development hub for BRP’s Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo and Can-Am products.

BRP has invested over $35M to modernize its facility over the past three years so it could pursue its mission of developing exciting, safe, high performing products. Over 600 engineers, technicians and professionals work at the Product Development Center in Valcourt, in close collaboration with BRP’s three advanced research and development centers around the world, to shape the future of the industry of motorized vehicles and engines.

“Since the invention of the sprocket wheel and track drive system by our founder, Joseph-Armand Bombardier, in 1935, our people in Valcourt have obtained over 750 issued patents and patent applications. This is an extraordinary achievement, and thanks to these cutting-edge new installations, we can expect that to continue at an even faster pace,” said José Boisjoli, president and CEO. “I must congratulate all those who participated in completing this new development center. We are all very proud of the quality of the work accomplished.”

BRP’s products under its three other brands – Lynx, Evinrude and Rotax – are developed in R&D centers in Finland, the United States and Austria.
