We got to tag along with the crew from Discount Tire on the Fins-n-Things Restoration for Recreation Project today as part of the Rally on the Rocks festivities this week in Moab. The project included installing 400 feet of buck and rail fence along the trail’s edge.
Nearly 50 people participated in the trail rehab project, which was organized by the BLM and Tread Lightly!. Discount Tire not only provided a good portion of the workers but also water and lunch for all the participants. And Camp Chef gave away a sweet prize for one lucky winner/participant.
Other sponsors of the trail restoration project were Arctic Cat and the Moab Tour Company.
After the work was done, we finished riding the Fins-n-Things trail with the Discount Tire crew. While this trail may not be the most difficult or technical of the trails in Moab, it has enough obstacles to keep it interesting and the views of the snow-capped La Sal Mountains from near the end of the trail are spectacular.
