Second Ride: Honda Pioneer 1000 (Kinda Like The First Ride)

October 2015 Powersport News Web Exclusive

Day two of our ride on the new Honda Pioneer 1000 was much like the first—fun and revealing about this new side-by-side.

We headed a different direction on our second day of riding, which included a man-made obstacle course that showed the capabilities of the vehicle such as ground clearance and how the suspension works.

The features and characteristics that shined on the first day of riding were reinforced on the second day—smooth power and a smooth transmission.

We mentioned yesterday that our ride was from the Paws Up Resort and to the ghost town of Garnet and then back again. On day two we headed north and east toward the Blackfoot River. The trail was smooth at times and rough at times. The Pioneer once again did well but we know that this is not a mogul-bashing machine. That’s not it’s designed intent and it won’t shine in those conditions.

We also managed to get a little fly fishing in on the Blackfoot River, thanks to the good folks at Honda and the Paws Up Resort.

We’ll have a full report in an upcoming issue of Dirt Toys Magazine.
