Project Enduro: Setting Up Our 2013 Husaberg TE300s

February 2014 Powersport News Ryan Harris Web Exclusive

Rexburg Motor Sports is a dirt toys fantasy land.

The Rexburg Motor Sports showroom is a dirt toys fanatic's home.

Dirt Toys is primarily a side-by-side and ATV mag, but the title opens the doors up to anything that's fun to ride in the dirt. You may remember my column in the winter 2013 issue of Dirt Toys Magazine talking about our enduro experiment. Here's a little more info on what went down on 2 wheels last year.

When Dirt Toys contributing editor Nate King and myself picked up a couple of 2013 Husaberg TE 300 dirt bikes from Rexburg Motor Sports (www.rexburgmotorsports.com) in March of 2013, we had all sorts of plans to spend the summer covered in dirt, sand and mud.

Nate took his 'Berg south to Green River and Moab, Utah, on regular occasions. I rode mine primarily in the greater Palisades mountain regions of eastern Idaho. While our bike setups weren't identical, we did cover a lot of similarities. The common goal was to build a torquey trail bike that could handle more than we as riders could. Mission accomplished.

Husaberg continued the TE 300 in the 2014 model year. However when KTM aquired Husqvarna, it phased out the Husaberg line and replaced it with pretty much the same bikes aside from linkage, white plastic and the big Husky H logos.

Click through the photo gallery below to get the details on what we added through the season and why. All the parts, accessories, Klim (www.klim.com) gear and protectives we ran all season are available at Rexburg Motor Sports, www.rexburgmotorsports.com or 208-356-4000. RMS is also the premier Husaberg / Husky dealer in the Intermountain West region. As KTM phases out the Husaberg line and brings in the Husky lineup of motocross and enduro bikes, Rexburg Motor Sports will contiue to be the place to get the best bike for the dirt.

We didn't make it 15 minutes from Rexburg Motor Sports after picking the new bikes up before we were out getting them dirty.

Nothing better than a summer morning at 7,000 feet with a couple sweet trail bikes.

What it's all about. Getting outside, getting dirty and riding with friends.
