Can-Am DS 450 ATV Pro Dillon Zimmerman Earns Third At WORCS Opener

January 2014 Racing

Valcourt, Québec - Can-Am DS 450 Pro Dillon Zimmerman earned third place in the ATV Pro class at the opening round of the 2014 Rocky Mountain ATV MC World Off-Road Championship Series held in California.

"Dillon put forth a great effort in very challenging conditions, battling for a top three finish aboard his Can-Am DS 450 ATV," Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am, said. "He now has back-to-back podium finishes, dating back to last year's final round, proving his speed, confidence and machine setup are all dialed in."

Honolulu Hills in Taft, CA, hosted round one. The racing conditions were challenging due to course setup, obstacles and the extreme drought in California. To battle the thick dust, race promoters watered the course as much as possible, which also created some muddy sections as well. ATV and side-by-side racers were also greeted with a huge motocross section with big jumps and a tricky, infield endurocross course.

Zimmerman was the top finishing Can-Am racer in Taft. The GPS/JRi/Can-Am X-Team racer, who finished sixth overall in the Pro class in 2013, battled much of the race in fourth place, but took over third on lap six. He put in his fastest lap of the race on lap seven to build a gap over fourth place. From there, Zimmerman rode steady all the way to the checkers and a well-deserved podium finish. Can-Am DS 450 Pro Collins Webster took seventh.

"The Can-Am was amazing," Zimmerman said. "The bike is handling better than ever thanks to JRi and the whole team. It feels great to get third and finish on the podium."
