Rubicon Trail 9th Annual Cantina For The Con This Weekend

August 2013 Powersport News

Placerville, CA - Regardless of how many wheels are on your vehicle or what size they happen to be, the Rubicon Trail is recreated by many. Show your support by participating in this weekend's Cantina for the Con event at the Loon Lake Spillway entrance.

It is an event featuring tacos, a raffle, a vendor midway and family friendly events throughout Saturday and Sunday. The event is accessible by car, RV or off-road vehicle.

"So many people think of the Rubicon Trail as a 4x4 only trail, but we see UTVs, motorcycles, trials bikes, quads, horses, hikers, bikers and others utilizing the trail," Rusty Folena, president of the Rubicon Trail Foundation, said. "Our Foundation works every day to keep this trail open for everyone to use, specifically all types of motorized access."

Directions and more specific information can be found at http://rubicontrail.org/rtf-cantina.htm.

As part of this weekend's event, the raffle will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m., but you do not have to be present to win. You can enter the raffle from anywhere across the country by calling 888-6-RUBICON. In addition for this year, you can win a Rubicon-ready Toyota truck, compliments of Dave'z Off Road Performance and Trail-Gear that will be raffled off at the Cantina for the Con. Tickets are $10.

The 9th Annual Cantina for the Con, proceeds of which go entirely towards supporting the future of the Rubicon Trail, has always had the support of the off-road community, near and far. Raceline Wheels and Falken Tires have joined for the second year to be the presenting sponsors.

"We really appreciate everything that the Rubicon Trail Foundation does to keep the Rubicon Trail functional so we can come and enjoy it the couple times a year we make it up here," Greg Mulkey, Raceline Wheels Offroad Division Director, said. "We came to this event last year and it was an absolute blast. Really looking forward to seeing everyone again."

Additional event sponsors who will also be at the Loon Lake Spillway or will be donating product to the raffle include RuffStuff Specialties, 4Wheel Parts, Genright Offroad, Metalcloak, Marlin Crawlers, Jaws Gear & Axle, Pitbull Tires, Cal4Wheel, CORVA and local Sacramento radio sponsors 96.9 the Eagle and 98 Rock, Off-Road Jerky, Napier Outdoors, Jeepers Jamboree, Snevey's Offroad, Inchworm Rock Walkin' Gear, Varozza 4x4 Outfitters, J&W Jeep, Advance Adapters, Auburn Powersports, Factory UTV, Keith's Alignment, WFO, Viair, Sierra Smokehouse BBQ, Crown Automotive Sales, Hellfire Fabworks, IH Parts America, Reid Racing, All-Pro Offroad, John & Barb Arenz, Race Team Store, NorCal Rock Racing, Sidetracked Offroad, Casper's Muffler, Talking Threads, ARB USA, Ben's Paint Supply, Busted Knuckle Films, ADCO Drivelines & Custom Exhaust Systems, Almar Mfg, Billetfairlead.com, Axial, Eagle Radiator & Muffler, Casper's Muffler, Dougherty Racing Camshafts, All Star Rents, Big Horn Graphics, Newton Firearms, Roundeyes, The Ridge Golf Course in Auburn, Tom Taylor's Differentials, Two Guys Trail Gear, Sierra Smokehouse BBQ, Arabia Overkill, Golden State Motorsports, Rachel Anne Grey Foundation and Advanced Gases and Equipment.
