Another Successful ROTR Ends

The 2013 Rally on the Rocks event in Moab, UT, is now just a memory but we're already looking forward to next year's event.

We always have a good time in Moab and the folks who organize the ROTR did another great job this year. The event is sponsored by Discount Tires and KYMCO.

This year's schedule of trail rides for us included some of our most favorite in all of southern Utah. On the first day of ROTR, our crew split up and we tackled three trails: Fins 'n Things, Behind The Rocks and Hell's Revenge. Hell's Revenge was kind of a bonus ride as we finished Fins 'n Things early in the afternoon and decided we had time to make a quick run around Hell's Revenge. On the Behind The Rocks ride, we tagged along with the crew from Camp Chef, which provided us a great lunch on the trail. Talk about roughing it.

Day two found us on Poison Spider, which always includes a ride to the arch. There are some truly amazing views from the arch, including the Colorado River, the distant mountains, the Moab Rim trail and thousands of acres of rock formations. While on the arch we saw the Baltimore Ravens Haloti Ngata do a handstand. That's not something you see everyday.

Moab Rim was our ride for day three. This is one of our favorite technical rides in Moab and we once again enjoyed negotiating the rock obstacles high above the Colorado River and then eating lunch on the edge of the cliff.

Our last day in Moab had us on Hell's Revenge for a slower, more scenic ride than on day one. Hell's Revenge is another favorite of ours, mostly because of the scenic beauty all along the trail.

Here are one or two of our favorite shots from each day's ride, plus maybe an extra couple that we also liked. We wish we could include more but we took more than a thousand photos and lots of video (which you can see by clicking on XXXXX) so there's just not enough room. You can see more photos from our ride by going to www.dirttoysmag.com and navigating to the May 14-19 entries in the News section.
