News about Arctic Cat's newest performance side-by-side is
out and that's good. We were itching to tell someone about the Wildcat 1000 X but were told by Cat that the
embargo date was Jan. 21.
Was. The news
release date got moved up to today and so we're able to tell you about it. We
rode the new Wildcat 1000 X last week near Randsburg, CA,
and this new vehicle is an amazing piece of machinery. It gobbled up the bumps
and whoops and rocks and just about anything else we threw under it and did so
with more horsepower than last year's Wildcat, thanks to a new powerplant.
We'll give you our full report in the first issue of Dirt Toys this season. For now, here is
Cat's release on the new Wildcat 1000 X.
The Wildcat 1000 X is the all-new High Horsepower King of the
Wildcat 2-seat family. The Wildcat X combines 90 plus horsepower with the
industry's leading front and rear suspension, making it the best all-around pure
sport ROV on the market.
High horsepower is only a number on paper if you can't get
that power to the ground where it matters. That's why Arctic Cat engineers
partnered with Team Industries to develop a new drive and driven clutch that
delivers the arm stretching torque and horsepower of the 951cc V-twin engine.
The Wildcat X also features a new sway bar that has been
designed to work harmoniously with the all new, 23-position,
compression-adjustable Fox Podium shocks and Maxxis Bighorn tires to create an unrivalled
pure sport ROV experience.
The Wildcat X has been tested in some of the roughest
off-road areas in the world, including Barstow, CA, the expansive sand dunes in Glamis and rock climbing
Whatever trail you choose, the Wildcat X is for you.
