Polaris To Launch Ranger RZR ATV In India On August 24

All-terrain-vehicles or ATVs aren't that popular here in India. But, there is group of enthusiasts who do like to venture out in the woods on weekends. The market is fairly small for such leisure vehicles in the country or it might just be the start. Lifestyle vehicles like the Mahindra Thar and the likes have gained popularity in recent times. Polaris, one of the leading engineering firms specializing in ATVs sees this as an opportunity to enter the Indian market.

 

Polaris will launch their very first ATV in India on August 24. The company will launch one model from the range of vehicles they make. The Ranger RZR will be coming to India probably with a 32 horsepower, 500cc engine. The four-stroke, single cylinder engine on the Polaris Ranger RZR 500 features liquid cooling and electronic fuel injection. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via an automatic gearbox.

 

The four-wheel all-wheel drive ATV gets hydraulic discs all around. The vehicle has a capacity to carry up to 454 kilograms of cargo. The independent suspension on the vehicles offers a smooth ride over rough terrain. The suspension also has ample travel to glide over hedges and ruts. Included in the package are other features like a digital gauge, speedometer, odometer, tachometer, tripmeter, hour meter, gear indicator, DC outlet, hi-temp light.

 

Now, in the US of America, the 500cc version of the Polaris Ranger costs $9,200 for the base variant which is approximately, INR 4.17 lakh.
