131-hp Turbocharged Rotax 1000R V-Twin engine w/ high-flow design

The industry’s first factory-installed turbocharger, which has been revised to 131 horsepower, gives the new Maverick MAX X rs 1000R Turbo the industry’s most power and torque. Enhanced performance comes from larger injectors, increasing boost pressure and recalibrating the CVT.

Yoshimura exhaust

The slip-on, Yoshimura exhaust is 33 percent lighter than the stock Maverick MAX muffler, it produces a throaty performance sound and adds to the vehicle’s fit-and-finish.

Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS)

The Tri-Mode DPS system features three modes (MIN, MED and MAX) allowing drivers to select the desired amount of steering assist for the terrain and conditions. It offers less assist at high speed and more assist at low speed.

Visco-Lok QE

All DPS-equipped models come with the Visco-Lok QE calibration giving an even quicker engagement of the front differential. Can lock up to 100 percent with no rev or speed limiter. This differential, unlike some competitor’s differentials, does not have

a speed or rev limiter.

TTA rear with high-performance Fox 2.5 Podium RC2 piggyback rear shocks

The Maverick X rs Turbo has Fox 2.5 Podium RC2 piggyback shocks. The shocks supply 16 inches (40.6 cm) of travel. The shocks have adjustments for Dual-Speed Compression (DSC), rebound and a dual-rate spring with infinite preload options. They also include a bottom-out control and spring crossover.

Double A-arm front suspension with Fox 2.5 Podium RC2 piggyback front shocks

The front shocks feature a 5/8-inch (1.6 cm) shaft, 2.5-inch (6.4 cm) aluminum body and 2-inch (5.1 cm) aluminum reservoir. 14-inch Aluminum beadlock wheels with 28-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires

The color-matching beadlock wheels with Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires are designed to be lighter for low unsprung weight. The mechanical fastening beadlock system makes it nearly impossible for the tire bead to break loose from the wheel during heavy acceleration or cornering. Large 28-inch, 6-ply tires, which feature sturdy lugs and a non-directional tread pattern, offer a smoother ride over a variety of surfaces.

Hydraulic disc brakes

The Maverick X rs is outfitted with 220 mm disc brakes with 32mm twin-piston calipers up front and 214 mm and 32 mm single-piston calipers in the rear for excellent stopping force.

Front and rear bumpers

A lightweight, aluminum pre-runner-style front bumper offers protection and styling. The MAX X rs Turbo also wears an attractive rear bumper for added armor.

Mudguards

Extending out from the fender wells, the bolt-on mudguards are designed to offer increased protection from mud, water and trail debris for the occupants.

Analog/digital gauge and custom steering wheel

The gauge features state-of-the-art instrumentation with an analog tachometer and speedometer combined with an advanced digital information centre. The analog/digital gauge, which offers a speedometer, odometer, clock, trip meter and more, is mounted to the steering column so it adjusts with the steering wheel and stays within the driver’s sight lines. Plus the three-spoke steering wheel is outfitted with molded grips and a brushed aluminum centre piece to add to the high-performance style.

X-package Seat Trim with 4-point harness system

X ds 1000R Turbo, the MAX platform is popular with riders everywhere. A custom two-seat Maverick MAX X ds 1000R Turbo won the prestigious Best In The Desert Mint 400 race in its first year of production. The MAX X ds platform, popular with riders everywhere, is also available with the normally aspirated 101-hp Rotax engine, and is available with many new colors this year.

Both X ds vehicles come with all the same X ds family components, comfortable seating for four adults and engineering exclusives, but features the MAX chassis and 29.5-inch (75 cm) longer wheelbase compared to the two-seat variations.

Performance

UPDATED 131-hp turbocharged Rotax 1000R V-Twin engine w/high-flow design (Turbo only)

The industry’s lone four-seat side-by-side vehicle with a factory-installed turbocharger has been revised for 2016. Its class-leading performance has been upped to 131 horsepower and its torque curves enhanced. Adding larger injectors, increasing boost pressure and recalibrating the CVT are some of the significant updates.

101-hp Rotax 1000R V-Twin engine (non turbo)

The 976cc, 101-hp Rotax 1000R V-Twin engine powering the normally aspirated Maverick X ds 1000R supplies reliable, thrilling power for both recreational and racing applications.

UPDATED CVT with Quick Response System (QRS) (Turbo only)

The CVT system was recalibrated to meet the increase in performance for 2016. The Quick Response System (QRS) now includes an updated driven spring and the drive pulley roller levers were also enhanced. The QRS system allows for even better power transfer and faster engagement time while also reducing friction for longer belt life. The CVT ventilation has strategic inlets and outlets and a specific impeller design to create more cold-air flow moving through the pulleys.

CVT transmission with Zylon-reinforced belt (non turbo)

The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) showcases a Zylon-reinforced belt, a material with 1.6 times higher tensile strength and increased belt rigidity in compression compared to a regular belt, keeping it cooler. It also features an integrated engine braking system that will help maintain a steady speed when descending hills.

Handling

Torsional Trailing A-arms (TTA) rear suspension with 16 inches of travel

The innovative Torsional Trailing A-arms (TTA) rear suspension system offers a full 16 inches (40.6 cm) of travel to provide a smooth, predictable ride. The compact version of a five-link suspension offers no bump steer and low scrub. This all translates to a more controlled wheel movement, optimal bump absorption and tire-to-ground contact for exceptional handling. A compact design also means low unsprung weight for quicker suspension reaction to changing terrain. Along with the top of the line Fox shocks, the rear suspension system offers a perfect balance of confidence at high speeds and the agility and nimbleness of a true sport vehicle.

Double A-arm front suspension with Fox 2.5 Podium RC2 piggyback front shocks

A position-sensitive Bottom-Out Control and a spring crossover allow for less compression damping at ride-height to improve comfort and traction while giving huge damping at the end of the stroke to flatten out the biggest of bumps. The aluminum body and reservoir improve heat dissipation and reduce weight. The 7/8-inch (2.2 cm) shaft gives the rear shocks a lot of additional strength and buckling resistance to handle the most demanding conditions. The rear suspension systems work in tandem to allow the Maverick MAX X ds to float over rough terrain and maintain a straight line while doing it.

117.5-inch (298.5 cm) wheelbase

The Maverick MAX X ds family has its own frame, including a modified rear sub frame, center rail and a few tweaks to the front end compared to the standard Maverick.
